Supported payment QR codes
- UPI (India): opens Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm and every UPI app with your UPI ID, name and amount.
- PayPal: a PayPal.me link, optionally with the amount and currency.
- SEPA bank transfer (EU): the official EPC QR code (“GiroCode”) that European banking apps read to fill in IBAN, name, amount and reference.
- Crypto: Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin payment links, or a plain wallet address for tokens such as USDT.
How to create a payment QR code
- Choose the payment method tab.
- Enter your payment details — IBANs are checked for typing mistakes.
- Add an optional amount and reference, check the scan test, then download.
Safety
HAYAQR never handles money — the code only contains your payment details, and the payment happens in the customer’s own banking or wallet app. Always double-check the details in the app before paying, and protect printed codes from being covered by fake stickers.
How each payment format works
UPI
A UPI code contains a upi://pay link with your UPI ID (VPA), payee name and optional amount and note. Any UPI app in India (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM or a bank app) opens the payment screen with your details filled in. The customer only confirms with their UPI PIN.
PayPal
The code opens your PayPal.me page. If you add an amount, the payment form is pre-filled. You need a PayPal.me link, which you can create free in your PayPal account settings.
SEPA (EPC QR / GiroCode)
The European Payments Council standard stores your IBAN, name, amount and payment reference. Customers scan it inside their banking app and the bank transfer form is filled in automatically, which avoids typing mistakes in long IBANs.
Crypto
Wallet apps read bitcoin:, ethereum: and litecoin: links with an optional amount. For tokens on other networks, a plain wallet address is the most compatible choice, but always tell the payer which network to use.
Who uses payment QR codes?
- Market stalls, taxis and home businesses that want contactless payments without a card terminal or fees.
- Freelancers and shops that print a code on invoices so clients pay the right amount with the right reference.
- Charities, mosques, churches and schools collecting donations, with the amount left empty.
- Restaurants and cafés for tips and bill payment at the table.
- Clubs and societies collecting membership fees.
Protect your customers from QR fraud
Because payment codes involve money, they are a target for “quishing” (QR phishing), where criminals stick their own code over yours. Reduce the risk:
- Display codes behind glass or on a screen you control, and check them daily.
- Print your business name next to the code. Customers should see the same name in their payment app before confirming.
- Use a static code with your own details, as this tool does, rather than a code that redirects through unknown websites.

Frequently asked questions
Does HAYAQR take a fee?
No. The QR code simply contains your payment details; we never process or see payments.
Can I leave the amount empty?
Yes. Customers then type the amount themselves — useful for tips and donations.
Which banks read the SEPA QR code?
Most banking apps in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Finland and other SEPA countries support the EPC (GiroCode) format.
Is my IBAN or wallet address stored?
No. Everything is generated in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
Can I make a QR code for my bank account outside the EU?
The SEPA format only works in SEPA countries. Elsewhere, use your country’s national QR system (such as UPI in India or Raast in Pakistan) through your bank app, or a PayPal link.
Is a payment QR code safe to share publicly?
It contains the same details you would put on an invoice, so it is safe to share. Customers still confirm every payment in their own app.
Can I set a fixed amount?
Yes. Enter the amount and it is pre-filled for the customer. Leave it empty to let them choose.
